I declare, cross my heart and hope to die: Life in university stinks. Freshman year is all roses and daisies sure, only so because they'll like to give you a false sense of how much fun and laughs you're going to have, before they themselves smile and pile on the work. Happy Holidays, you see. Hands up, sophomores out there who think Year 2's still lovely and sailing. (Read: I think you've totally lost it. Honest.)

I came back early from a Macroeconomics lecture with a blank question paper because yes, I have no inkling what that particular question was asking for and to tell the truth, it scares me. It scares me, because I did put in some effort in revising for the topic. I also have a general idea of what's going on during classes and tutorials. I didn't even have to do that much work a year before. I never knew one inch's worth of writing on a sheet of paper could make one feel so ill at ease. Imagine a few months down the road, staring at a few pages' worth of it, all the while facing the ticking clock.

Worse could be said of Advanced Calculus, which is so insane that no one with the power of module choices should ever opt for it. The idea of vector contours is a torture on one's skill of visualisation and multiple integrals make me wish I was still doing plain old difficult integration. I know I like Math but I sure could do without the trouble of explaining why the derivative of 2x is 2. The best thing is, it's worth a very generous half a credit point. Half, no thanks to the academics over at LSE, which means an equally disgusting half-module called Advanced Linear Algebra is soon to follow. Lesson in point, don't pick anything with 'advanced' in it just because it sounds cool. Do not choose anything with 'econ' in it either unless like me, you're left with no choice. To prove: 15 is a multiple of 3. Really, nobody needs any convincing and basically, who cares. Abstract Mathematics indeed, for the sheer loony-ness of it.

I'm faced with many tutorial sheets and an assignment deadline, plus a looming Microeconomics (the horror!) test. Pray that I survive. Oh heck, study blues. (:
